Rebuilding Together - A very cost effective way to improve housing for the poor.

Rebuilding Together - A very cost effective way to improve housing for the poor.

May 7th, 2012

Last Sat, I volunteered to photograph the rehabbing of two houses by Rebuilding Together. They were rehabbing 22 houses that day altogether. Today I finished processing the photos. The owners were very greatful to the Heartland Bank & Boeing teams who rehabbed the two houses I shot.

Evidence based design

Evidence based design

August 19th, 2011

There is a mounting body of research evidence that has lead to a field called, "Evidence based design" for medical facilities. It has shown that patients in medical facilities such as surgical care units are able to be dischared significantly earlier, take fewer pain medications, and take fewer sedative medications when their environment includes engrossing images (usually photographs) of nature scenes. Here's a resource for more info on this topic:

Making customers feel better - a chiropractic case study

Making customers feel better - a chiropractic case study

July 10th, 2011

A chiropractor was remodeling her office & therefore was thinking about what to put on the new walls. She chose to use this photograph. To me it makes perfect sense. She's in the business of making her customers feel better & I do believe having this available for them to view while in her treatment room will help do just that in addition to her chiropractic care itself. A happy customer is a repeat customer. A happy customer gives referrals. A happy customer makes a happy provider. Not...

Stimulate Creativity

Stimulate Creativity

June 30th, 2011

Sometimes fine art is used to stimulate creativity in a home or office environment. Creativity tends to stimulate creativity, so surrounding yourself with work that sets that tone can help stimulate your own creativity. Perhaps a conference room or office is a good place to do this. I can't upload more than one photo per blog post, so I'll upload several in a row along this line to show some examples. This particular piece implies striving against obstacles. Not a bad message for a team...

One of my customers uses this photo I took for them to advertise their financial advisory services at a movie theater near their office. It is showing 40 times/day 365 days for one year. Our goal with this photo was to represent the friendly, helpful atmosphere the client feels when working with them. Did we succeed?

How art can help a business put customers in the mood

How art can help a business put customers in the mood

June 25th, 2011

In this blog, I'll be talking about how my fine art photography customers are using photography/art to help set the mood of their customers to make doing business with them easier & more successful. The Image attached is one that I sold to a financial advisor for the hallway leading to his office. His goal was to set an atmosphere that was somewhat like a country club lounge, but a little homier. You'll find this same piece in my gallery of St. Louis scenes, but as he already had some other...
